Stockholm. See, Shop, Eat, Repeat.

Cold but beautiful – this is how Stockholm welcomed us. This is definitely neither a travel blog nor just a „super- nice- food- picture- thing“ without relevant content. This post sums up all of my memories: the impressions we got, places we have been, things we tried out and that I now want to recommend to you.

Our weekend trip started on a thursday and like a couple of you might already saw in my insta-story, it started with the security check story. The security staff asked me if I had any liquides in my bag, and as far as I remembered there was nothing in my embee-bag except… a large zuccini that I bought the day before for dinner. I guess this is how you make it on a list of the „most awkward security-check-in-stories at Duesseldorf airport“ 😉 Anyways the journey began, that’s all that really matters.

Arrived in Stockholm we strolled around for three days (we discovered 80% by foot. I always prefer this since you see so much more if you just wander around and explore), saw a lot, drank a lot of coffee to warm ourselves up and had amazing dinners, because Stockholm has so many lunch and dinner locations that are recommendable. All the good things I want to share with you.

Hope you like it!

Where to sleep.

After our arrival at stockholm airport, we went to our airbnb appartment which was located in the district Söldermalm by bus and train. There are to options if you arrive at Stockholm Alranda: you can either take the bus (approx 50 minutes to the central station) or the express train (approx. 20 minutes). Since we had no time pressure we decided to take the bus and after 1:20h, we arrived at our airbnb. The apartment was tiny, the bed very special, but it had its charm and we liked it the way it was. It’s not that easy to get a good and cheap apartment in expensive stockholm. So we decided to stay in an airbnb apartment again. Here it is. Our airbnb.

Go and see.

You should definitely put some things on your list, that are with doing besides the basics like seeing the old town, go to a museum, and eat at least one cinnamon bun each day.

This is one of the world’s largest  places for contemporary photography. You should definitely go there!

Stores we liked.

Beyond Retro

Go there and see a lot of cool second hand stuff: Brännkyrkagatan 82, 118 23 Stockholm, Sweden.

For all the sneaker lovers: Åsögatan 124, 116 24 Stockholm, Sweden.

Cool mix of new and vintage clothes/items, shoes, accessories, jewelry and design. Grandpa has three stores in stockholm. Here you can find one of them: Södermannagatan 21, 116 40 Stockholm, Sweden.

All the way up.

While strolling through stockholm, you will definitely see this very cool „Coca Cola“ – sign. Go all the way up for an unique view over stockholm. It’s worth it.

Where to eat, drink, warm up.

First things first. The sweedish coffee break is called Fika. Yes, we had a lot of this Fika whatever thing. The swedish people are crazy about coffee and so am I. In fact, there are a lot, and I mean a looot, of good coffee places to recommend. First of all there is this amazing coffee place called Starbuc… just kidding.

And the first lunch recommendation goes to…STHLM RAW.  If you are looking for powerfood and a lot of healthy stuff you should better go there: Långholmsgatan 11, 117 33 Stockholm, Sweden. I recommend the quinoa salad and the sweet potato soup + cappuccino and matcha latte.

Pom & Flora

Same same but different. Superfood in a cozy atmosphere and so damn good. We all had avocado toast w/ egg (like nearly everybody else) and it was so yummy. Go there: Bondegatan 64, 116 29 Stockholm, Schweden.

Fabrique Stenugnsbageri

Just go and see and try the amazing cinnamon buns! Rosenlundsgatan 28, 118 53 Stockholm, Sweden.

Urban Deli.

A restaurant with a special  athmosphere. It is very crowded, loud but cool at the same time. It’s hard to get a table, so we sat together with some swedish people. We liked it a lot and the food was so good. Go there:  Nytorget 4, 116 40 Stockholm, Schweden.

Just a small selection of dishes but it was so good. Skånegatan 81, 116 35 Stockholm, Sweden.

For all those vegetarians and vegans out there! Pay once and go as often as you can to the amazing buffet full of healthy stuff. No picture perfect because our plates were overloaded w/ food and that looked not as good as it tasted. Go there! Fjällgatan 23B, 116 28 Stockholm, Schweden.

Nytorget 6

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine. We went there, the food we saw was looking amazing. The point was…no reservation, so no food at Nytorget 6 for us. Unfortunately. But a full restaurant should be a good sign and this is why I’m telling you about it. Note: reserve a table.

You made it through this super cool and totally new blogpost and I hope you heard things you’ve never heard before and that my recommendations will help you to have a great time in Stockholm – just like we had!

Love you.
